Nastia Burak Obituary

Nastia Burak, 96, of Syracuse, passed away Tuesday September 7, at Loretto. Nastia was born in Ukraine and has lived in Syracuse for 70 years. For 22 years she worked for the MacMillan Book Co. then for 13 years she worked in maintenance at the John H. Mulroy Civic Center. She was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church and a member of the Apostleship of Prayer where she was Mother of the Year in 2006. She was also a member of the Ukrainian National Home.


She was predeceased by her husband Iwan who died in 1981 and a son Wasyl who died in 1954.


She is survived by 2-sons, Terry Burak and Michael Burak both of Syracuse,

2-grandchildren, John Burak and Annie Dotzler, and 7 great-grandchildren.


She will be laid to rest in the St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery. Services will be private
