Ronald W. Macko Obituary

Ronald W. Macko, 72, of Baldwinsville, passed away Tuesday June 29, 2021 at his home. Ron was born in Syracuse June 29, 1949. He was a graduate of Solvay High School and received his associate degree from college. He was a US Army veteran served during the Vietnam era. He retired from Niagara Mohawk after 37 years of service.

Ron enjoyed hunting and fishing with his father and his brothers. For over 45 years he duck hunted with his best friend and mentor Dick Baker. Ron and his two English Setters "Moses" and "Hobbes" never stopped dogging Partridges and Pheasants. Ron is listening for their bells right now and looking for a certain fox.


Ron was predeceased by his parents Peter & Regina Macko and his wife and eternal love and angel Norma Jean "Fox" Yates of 43 years.

He is survived by his daughter Michelle Theresa (Alex) Carlisle, his brothers Edwin (Sandy) Macko, Daniel Macko, sister in laws, Rene (Alan) DeGarcia, Nancy O'Neil and Theresa (Tom) Manning; Nieces and Nephews Jerrod Macko, Samantha and Katie Macko, Claire and Matthew DeGarcia and Nicholas and Emma Manning.


True and honorable friends Dick & Joyce Baker, Dave and Theresa Carta, Dave and Sue Ragonese, and Dave "up the invisible ladder" Clark and Kim Carzo.


Calling hours will be held on Wednesday July 7, 2021 from 10- 12 Noon at the Macko-Vassallo Funeral 1609 W. Genesee, Syracuse. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon at the funeral home. Ron will be laid to rest in the St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery.
