Dorothy Marascalchi, 92, of North Syracuse, passed away Wednesday December 9th at her home surrounded by her loving family. Dorothy retired from the NYS Workers Compensation Board and the State Insurance Fund after 26 years of service. She was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church and a member of CSEA. She enjoyed cooking and making the Pyrohy for the church festival. She was a loving, kind and generous woman, and always had a beautiful smile. She will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved her.

She was predeceased by her husband Fred who died in 1993 and a son Jim who died in 2006. She was also predeceased by 9 brothers and sisters.

Surviving are her Daughter Karen Lynch of North Syracuse and her Son and Daughter in Law Stephen and Chris Marascalchi of Cato; 3-Grandchildren, Brian & Peter Marascalchi, and Caitlin (Cory) Wohlhueter; 2-Great Grandchildren Aubrey & Hailey. She is also survived by several nieces & nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday December 15th at 9:30AM from the Macko-Vassallo Funeral and 10:00 AM at the St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery Chapel. Dorothy will be laid to rest at St. John's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Monday 4-6 PM at the funeral home, 1609 W. Genesee St. The Panakhyda services will be held at 6:00PM Monday evening.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hospice of CNY or to St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church.
