Obituary of Walter T. (Chubby) Yarwood

Walter T. (Chubby) Yarwood November 27, 2023 Walter T. (Chubby) Yarwood, 82, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully Monday November 27, 2023 at his home in the arms of his wife. He was predeceased by his parents Walter H. & Telva Yarwood. Walter retired in 1999 from New Process Gear where he worked as an electrician for 32 years. He was member of U.A.W. Local 624. He served in the Air National Guard and was a past member of the Liverpool Fire Department. Walt was a great car enthusiast. He participated in the Syracuse Nationals with his 1972 Monte Carlo for 19 years. He was an avid bowler his highest game was 299. For 32 years Walt and his wife Joanne spent over 35 years camping and boating at Brennan's Beach Resort in Pulaski. You would recognize them driving around the park in his Red Dodge Ram pickup truck golf cart. In the 70's he enjoyed snowmobiling with his wife and daughter. After Joanne retired they became snowbirds and both went on to work seasonal at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fl. They also spent many weeks at their time share at Treasure Island. Walt is survived by his wife of 59 years and together totally 66 years, Joanne C. Yarwood, His daughter Cheryl Yarwood and her fiancée Clifford Duguid of Millbrook, AL, his beloved Poodle Bridget, and several nieces & nephews. Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 1, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Maurer Funeral Home, Inc., 300 Second St., Liverpool, NY 13088. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 9:30 am in Catholic Family of Epiphany Church (Formerly St. Joseph the Worker Church) 1001 Tulip St., Liverpool, NY 13088. The Rite of Committal and entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum, Syracuse, NY. Macko-Vassallo Funeral Home has charge of arrangemnts. Contributions may be made to Hospice of CNY, 990 7th North St., Liverpool, NY 13088 and Upstate in Home Hospital Care, 750 E. Adams St., Syracuse, NY 132
