Obituary of OIga Holl

Olga Holl September15, 2023 Olga Holl, 85, of Syracuse, passed away Friday September 15, 2023. Olga was born in Ukraine, March 5, 1938. She moved to France with her parents as a young child where she grew up and learned to love the French culture. In the 1960's Olga and her parents immigrated from France to Utica NY. After she married, she moved to Syracuse to raise her family. Olga was a licensed hairdresser and for many years worked out of her family home. She was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church and supported her husband Peter during his time as President of the Ukrainian National Home. Olga loved gardening; she adored all babies, dogs, and shopping at BonTon. For the past several years Olga lived with her eldest son's family. Olga greeted everyone she loved with the words "my beloved". Olga an only child, was predeceased by her parents Pierre and Catherine Batik and an infant daughter Claudine (1969). Olga lost her beloved husband of 52 years Peter in 2019. She is survived by her 2-Sons Michael (Amy) Holl and Dan Holl; 3-Grandchildren Nathaniel, Nadia, and Kaitlyn; and Olga was also Baba to Dane George (Alexi Walts-George), and Ian George. Calling hours will be held Thursday, September 21, 2023 from 4:00-7:00 pm at the Macko-Vassallo Funeral Home, 1609 W. Genesee St. Syracuse. The Panakhyda Service will be held at 6:30 PM Thursday evening at the funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, September 22, 2023 at 10:00 AM in the St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church.
