Peter Tymchenko, 81, of Onondaga Hill, passed away Monday, July 31, 2023 at Crouse Hospital. Peter was born in Kharkiv, Ukraine. He was a graduate of Vocational High School. Afterwards, he went on to study at Onondaga Community College graduating in 1964 with a degree in Electrical Technology. Peter had a long career, spanning for over 4 decades as a Medical Equipment Technician for Philips Healthcare Equipment Co (Hewlett Packard). He was an active member of St. Luke's Ukrainian Orthodox Church and was instrumental in the building of the new church in Warners, NY. For many years he served as Vice President and Treasurer and was a member of the church choir. As an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his loving family, especially his cherished grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife Lydia, a brother Mykola, sisters Maria & Patricia, and his nieces Vera Parkhill & Catarina Taran.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his children, Paul Tymchenko of Maryland, Tanya Tymchenko of Connecticut, Mark (Michelle) Tymchenko of Colorado, 3 grandchildren, Lydia, Addison, and Ryan, 2 sisters, Katya (Michael) Zlidenny of California, Halyna (Victor) Lisnyczyj of Florida, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 4, 2023 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the St. Luke's Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 3290 Warners Road, Warners, NY 13164. A Memorial Service (Panakhyda) will be held at 7:00 pm Friday evening in the church. Funeral services with burial services will be held Saturday August 5, 2023 at 10:00 am at the church.
