Obituary of Lola Bordun

Lola Dolores Gonzalez Bordun, 93, of The Nottingham, passed away peacefully Friday October 26, 2018 at Crouse Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Bordun was born in Bogata, Colombia. In the mid 1950's she migrated to NYC with her family. Through a mutual friend of theirs in Syracuse she met her future husband Wasyl and they were married for fifty years. After raising their children in NYC they retired to Syracuse in 1996. Lola has lived in Syracuse for 22 years with her sisters. During her retirement years she enjoyed traveling to her homeland as well as Europe with her husband and family members. She was a calming and constant presence in her families lives. Lola was a joy to be around and brought smiles to others with her subtle wit. She was a devout Catholic and was content with a simple life of faith, hope and charity. She volunteered at church events and assisted in preparing traditional Ukrainian Foods. She retired as a Cost Analyst for Apple Tree Fashions in the garment district of NYC where she was also an excellent seamstress.
