Edward S. Benderski

Edward S. Benderski, 85, of Mattydale, passed away Tuesday May 10, 2022 at his home. Edward was a lifelong resident of Mattydale. He retired from Western Electric in 1998. He served in the US Air Force and the US Army Reserves. He was a member of the Mattydale American Legion Post 1832 and St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church. Edward loved fishing, breakfast with his friends, was an avid sports fan, and spending time with his loving family and friends.

He was predeceased by his wife Dolores, his parents, Stanley & Margaret Benderski, and 2 sisters, Ann Kaczmarek & Connie Roberts.

Surviving to cherish his memory are his children; Andrea (Dave) Precourt, Michelle (Bruce) Enders and Mark Benderski (Colleen). Also he's survived by 7 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, his sister Helen Zebrowski, his former wife Sue McCombie, several nieces, nephews, step children, Janine & Serena, and a special thanks to his dearest friend PJ Mitchell & Danielle for all the love and care you gave him.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday May 14, 2022 from 10:00 AM-12:00 Noon at the Macko-Vassallo Funeral Home, 1609 W. Genesee St., Syracuse, followed by a funeral service to be held at 12:30 PM in the St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, 207 Tompkins St. Syracuse. Edward will be laid to rest in the St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery.
