Pavlo "Paul" Tkacz, 99 of Syracuse, passed away September 4, 2018 at Loretto. Mr. Tkacz was born in Ternopyl, Ukraine and has lived in Syracuse for 65 years. He retired from General Electric in 1981 where he worked as an Inspector for 28 Years. He was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church and a member of the church choir. From 1962-1981 he was a teacher and director of CYM, member of the Organization for the Defense of the Four Freedoms of Ukraine, Ukrainian Congress Committee, the SURMA Men's Choir and the Ukrainian National Home.
He was predeceased by his wife Pearl who died in 2006.
Survivors: his daughter and son-in-law, Maria & Ewhen Hryhorkiv; 3 grandchildren, Hayla, Luba & Pavlo; 5 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren, and several cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, September 7, 2018 at 10:00 AM in the St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, 207 Tompkins Street, Syracuse.
