Mary Nadwirsky, 98, formerly of Syracuse, passed way Saturday May 11, 2019 in Cambridge, MA. Mrs. Nadwirsky was born in Poland and lived in Syracuse in the Tipperary Hill area for many years. For 50 years she worked as the cook & housekeeper at the St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church Rectory and the St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic School. She was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Church, was a longtime member of the Apostleship of Prayer and Mother of the Year in 1998-1999. She enjoyed volunteering at the church functions, making Pyhrohy and Holubsi
She was predeceased by her husband Iwan Nadwirsky who passed away in 1953
She is survived by her Daughters; Stephanie (Marcel) Sztaimberg of Cambridge, MA and Olga (Mark) Lutz of Somerville, MA; 5 Granddaughters; Ilana Sztaimberg, Raquel (Adam) Rein, Jessica (Boris) Khazac, Nicole (Jerry) Toomey and Marisa (Ted) Ohnemus; 5-Great Grandchildren; a Brother Gregory Chomych and several Nieces & Nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday May 18, 2019 at 10:00 AM in the St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church 207 Tompkins Street, Syracuse. Mrs. Nadwirsky will be laid to rest in the St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery. There will be a calling hour Saturday at 9:00 AM till 10:00 AM in the church.
