Freddie P. Bush

Freddie "Fred" P. Bush, 72, of North Syracuse, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at his home. Fred was born in Gauley Bridge, West Virginia and has lived in North Syracuse for the past 34 years. He retired from Mirabito where he worked as a HVAC repairman and technician for many years. Fred enjoyed life to the fullest. His favorite place was spending time at his camp at Swan Bay on the St. Lawrence River with his loving family. He loved, fishing, playing the organ, ship watching at camp, and cheering on his favorite football team "The Commanders".

Fred was a very active member of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church. He had a great passion for the church and all of the parishioners in the parish community. He participated as an Usher and assisted the clergy with the readings during the Liturgy's in church. He was a member of the Holy Name Society, served as President, and currently was serving as treasurer. He also was a member of the Ministry of the Sick where the group would visit the sick and homebound of the parish. He also was past chairman of the St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church Festival committee. Fred loved when his grandchildren would come to visit and his great-grandchildren would climb all over him like he was a tree. .

Fred was predeceased by his parents, Dan and Velma Bush, brother Billy, his sister Ginger, nephew Danny, daughter Stephanie, and great grandson Brian Jr.

Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of 40 years Donna Kirsch Bush, daughter Christina Bush, Sisters Sue Bird, Judy Naylor, grandchildren, Dustin Wilson, Courtney (Brian Manley) Wilson, great-grandchildren, Rylan, Greysen, Arlyn, Ezrah, Rosalie, and Serenity.

Fred will be greatly missed by not only his family and friends but, also by his parish community.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 7, 2026 at 10:00 am in the St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, 207 Tompkins Street, Syracuse, NY 13204.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church.
