James "Jim' Gleason

James "Jim" Gleason, 88, of Dewitt, NY, passed away Friday, February 13, 2026 in Jenson Beach, Florida. Jim was born, June 16, 1937 in Palermo, NY. He retired as a Deputy Sheriff with the Onondaga County Sheriff's Department where for 20 years he worked in the Jail Division. After his retirement from the Sheriff's department, he started his own pest control business, called "Good Riddance" Pest Control. All his customers knew him by his nickname "Batman".

He was a member of the Onondaga County Sheriff's Department PBA, loved hunting, fishing, and playing cards. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his loving family and friends, He was one of a kind, loved by all that knew him. He will be greatly missed.

He was predeceased by his first wife Frances "Frani" DuBois Gleason who died in 1965, and by 8 brothers and sisters.

Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Andrea Tanner Gleason; daughters, Deborah (Peter) Vassallo, Cynthia Rendino; four grandchildren, Trisha and Sara Vassallo, Michelle Townsend, Frances Rendino, seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
