John Wynarczyk

John Wynarczyk, 78, of Camillus, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2025 at Upstate University Hospital. John was born in Aschaffenburg, Germany September 11, 1946. He came to the United States with his parents, Dmytro & Paraska Wynarczyk and settled in West Virginia. Eventually he and his family moved and settled in Syracuse, NY. He was a graduate of St. Lucy's Academy and went on to attend trade school. For 37 years he worked as a Machine Repairman at New Process Gear retiring in 2008. He was a member of UAW Local 624. John was known by everyone as "Johnny Y" as he was never at a loss for asking questions. He enjoyed fishing, going to the flea markets, making friends wherever he went and being outdoors. He enjoyed relaxing with his cats, Lizzy and Gizmo.

He was predeceased by his parents, Dmytro & Paraska Wynarczyk.

Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of 54 years, Jacqueline, his children, Kelly Wynarczyk, John McCue Wynarczyk (Heath), Rebecca Wynarczyk, his brother George Wynarczyk, sister Mary (Jim) Suflita, several nieces,and nephews.

A visitation will be held Saturday, June 7, 2025 from 10:15 am to 11:00 am in the St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, 207 Tompkins St., Syracuse, NY. followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am. John will be laid to rest in the St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation or the American Heart Association.
