Walentyna (Holowko) Tymchenko of Lake Oswego, Oregon, widow of Mykola Tymchenko, passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 9, 2025. She was born in Ukraine and resided in Brazil, New York, and Oregon.
Walentyna was an accountant and rehab counselor in Syracuse. She was a member of St Luke's Ukrainian Orthodox Church for many years where she enjoyed being in the choir and women's group. She moved to Oregon in 1997 to be closer to her grandchildren. She loved being a grandmother to her five grandchildren and great grandson making them her famous chocolate chip cookies.
She leaves two sons, Viktor and his wife Mari Tymchenko of Oregon and Nick and his wife Dr. Adriana Tymchenko of Pennsylvania; five grandchildren: Andrew, his wife Lindsey, Alexander, Ksenia, Luka, and Mateyko; one great grandson Theodore; and her sister Luda Chmeliwskyj of Connecticut.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 28, 2025, at 10am in St. Lukes Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 3290 Warners Rd, Warners, NY. Walentyna will be laid to rest in the St. Luke's Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery.
